Summary

For our secondary school in Steinbach (Taunus) near Frankfurt we are looking for a qualified Teacher of English (in part-time or full-time, starting at the beginning of the school year 2025/2026).

Responsibilities

  • Designing imaginative and varied lessons to improve students’ reading, writing, and speaking of English
  • Creating a positive, supportive, and welcoming learning environment in the classroom
  • Participating in and helping conceptualize new, innovative ways to further interest in our subject
  • Carrying out the objectives of our unique English curriculum (Cambridge International and Hessen Core Curriculum)
  • Assessment of students' work, including informal and formal assessments
  • Providing students and parents with regular updates on learning
  • Use of differentiated teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students
  • Organisation, implementation, and follow-up of parent-teacher conferences and meetings
  • Regular participation in school events, trips, and conferences
  • Participation in departmental meetings

Qualifications

  • Qualification as a secondary teacher who holds a Bachelor’s degree - ideally a Master’s, in English and a teaching certificate
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience
  • Passion for your subject and enthusiasm, bringing new ideas from recent training or professional development
  • Experience in (or openness to) teaching an international curriculum
  • Acting as a role model for students through your teaching and your knowledge of the English-speaking world
  • Enjoying teaching in an international setting
  • An interest in the development and implementation of new pedagogical concepts that focus on the individualized development of students
  • Openness to using new technology to enhance learning and for implementing innovative methodologies

Additional information

Our bilingual Phorms School Frankfurt has two locations in the Frankfurt metropolitan area where we educate students from nursery through to secondary school. At our family-friendly Phorms Taunus Campus in Steinbach, which is surrounded by nature, we provide access to German-English language acquisition for around 700 children and young people, beginning in nursery, using the immersion method.
