Summary

To support our staff, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced: Classroom Assistant (IB PYP Primary). This part-time role offers a great opportunity to support young learners in an international and engaging school environment. As a valued member of the classroom team, you will contribute to the daily life of a vibrant IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Responsibilities

  • Support students and teachers in the classroom to enhance individual and group learning
  • Assist with classroom activities, preparation of materials, and supervision during lessons
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the smooth running of daily routines
  • Provide additional language support for English language learners, where appropriate

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native proficiency in English, enabling confident and articulate communication in both spoken and written forms—ideal for a bilingual and international learning environment.
  • Previous experience working with children, whether in formal education or informal settings, is preferred—demonstrating familiarity with child-centered support and classroom dynamics. 
  • A proactive, nurturing, and team-oriented mindset, capable of supporting both teachers and learners with initiative and compassion. 
  • An avid interest in international education, especially within the IB PYP framework—embracing inquiry-based learning, global-mindedness, and child-centered pedagogy. 
  • Strong collaboration skills, flexibility, and unwavering reliability—comfortable adapting in diverse settings and contributing effectively within a school team.  
  • Knowledge of German is welcome and considered an asset, though it is not a requirement—enhancing communication and support in a multilingual school environment.
