Summary

Gemic is a global consultancy specializing in business and innovation strategy. We help leading organizations drive sustainable growth by applying human-centered research to emerging cultural, business, and technological shifts. Our teams combine social science and strategy to deliver impactful, culturally-relevant solutions. Our areas of focus, which we call verticals, are: Societal Impact, Social Tech, and Brand-led Growth. Our internships are a great opportunity to explore consulting as a whole and Gemic's specific social science–led approaches to strategy consulting. You'll be based in one of our offices for a 3–4 month paid engagement and hit the ground running as a key member of project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Cultural analysis — researching societal and industry trends to help team members understand the cultural and market landscape their clients are navigating
  • Competitive analysis and brand auditing — looking at competitor brands and out-of-category brands to help team members and the client understand what peer companies are doing and what they can learn from them
  • Fieldwork analysis — reading and gathering themes from team members’ field interviews to help with synthesis
  • Analysis of client documents — reading the client’s internal documents and communicating takeaways with team members to help them understand the clients strengths and challenges
  • Note-taking — attending internal and client meetings and capturing key comments, questions and takeaways for team members
  • Desk research - analyzing the client question and finding relevant sources and pieces of information

Our most desired qualifications include strength in some fundamental skills that will best position candidates for successful engagements. These qualifications include:
  • Proficiency in key consulting tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides functionality and design elements to contribute to slide-making and development of presentations that effectively communicate strategy and recommendations; Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Research management and analysis – ability to conduct research, manage large volumes of data, and offer strategic insights relevant to the client question; ability to synthesize data and present with an imaginative, storytelling approach
  • Curious, abstract, and strategic thinking while remaining structured and logical
  • Critical thinking – ability to ask incisive questions and challenge assumptions, contributing ideas to strategy development
  • A strong ability to work through ambiguity and navigate divergent points of view
  • Self-driven in articulating learning and development goals
  • Know, love, and have strong opinions of the social sciences, business strategy, humanities, and design
  • Candidates with 0-2 years relevant professional experience: final year students, recent graduates at any level, new professionals, or even some looking to change careers

€2,310 per month
